EALING

£18-£23 HOURLY RATE

MONDAY - FRIDAY- 9AM - 5PM

3 MONTH ASSIGNMENT (POSSIBILITY OF BEING EXTENDED)

THE FINANCE & INCOME OFFICER'S MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

To have lead responsibility for administering the clients income through the application of procedures, adherence to policy and the implementation of robust systems to manage the collection of rent from residents occupying Bed and Breakfast, Hostel LIAs, Private Managed and Private Sector Lease Accommodations.
Through various communication mediums, interviewing techniques and location conduct high quality interviews with homeless households in order to provide welfare benefit advice/assistance, and advice on rent arrears, budget management, and arrears payment.
Have lead responsibility to administrating rent accounts from the setting up to the closing of accounts, administering the suspense account, processing refunds, adjustments, transfers and actioning request for cancellations, reinstatement and revision of rent accounts.
Ensure that the Housing Benefit and the housing element of universal credit is paid for all customers in temporary accommodations to reduce arrears levels, sustain tenancies by investigating the reasons for non-payment and resolving issues.
Have lead responsibility for ensuring the ending of tenancy through the NTQ process for non-payment of temporary accommodation charges and accumulation of rent arrears, attending court and representing the council at possession hearings.

THE FINANCE & INCOME OFFICER MUST:

Have experience of dealing with rent accounts for a local authority or Housing Association
Have experience of working in a housing environment
Have knowledge of the regulations governing the award of housing and welfare benefits
Have knowledge of relevant housing legislation
Have the ability to deal effectively with customers, provide information and advice
