Job Details
Opportunity for a Grid Engineer to join our offshore wind client on a contract basis that will run for 6 months with the potential to be extended. This role could also lead to a permanent contract. Remote working will be required for this position initially.
Role
Supporting the development of the offshore wind farm by managing the scope of the transmission system and equipment as part of the project teams
Advising on the overall electrical design of the wind farm and any co-located loads
Advising on the commercial/technical/compliance aspects of the grid connection of the wind farm
Advising on the design of the transmission system balancing technical and commercial requirements
Working with external consultants, suppliers and contractors to conduct detailed studies where necessary
Requirements
Bachelor's degree Electrical Engineering
8+ years of experience in electrical designs and grid connections preferably in the UK
Technical skill in the areas of power system design and analysis, equipment selection and protection
Experience with offshore wind projects
Experience with (UK) grid laws and regulation
Knowledge of the design and development of offshore wind farms, including related transmission infrastructure
Strong personal leadership in HSE and Quality
Effective communicator with ability to collaborate and integrate the many parties usually at the table
Engagement skills at all levels of the project team
