We are excited to be recruiting for an experienced Engineering Operations Manager for our engineering client, based in the centre of Derby.

Our client is a globally recognised brand who have been trading for over 30 years as a market leader in the electrical components industry.

As an Engineering & Test Operations Manager you will be a key member of the Senior Management Team You will strive to achieve outstanding results in the continuous improvement of the company's Engineering & Test function. Using your experience and skills, you will manage your team, along with their processes and systems in order ensure that productivity targets are fulfilled with the best service possible.

Key Responsibilities:
*Strategically manage all responsibilities that sit with the Engineering and Test departments in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
*Manage and oversee all Engineering documentation and Engineering change processes
*Initiate, co-ordinate and implement optimal operational specifications and procedures.
*Understand, follow and adhere to all Test specific and safety legislation requirements.
*Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene and security at all times.
*Supporting tools for change & configuration management.
*Ensure the use of automated and computerised systems to improve efficiency and ensure department records are accurate and reliable.
*Prepare annual budget and capacity planning.
*Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to manage and support the day to day running of each department.
*Assess and revise departments organisational structure to ensure the most efficient output.
*Plan working shifts, overtime, rotas, assign tasks appropriately while tracking skills and experience to ensure the departments best working practice.
*Plan, manage and maintain the required training within the department.
*Produce KPI reports and statistics regularly as set by General Manager.
*Organise the recruitment and training of staff, as well as monitoring staff performance and progress.
*In collaboration with global partners, active participation in the development and implementation of the company's standard way of working, standard processes, tools, software and documentation.
*Ensuring the active participation of Engineering and Testing in the continuous improvement process.
*Support of the Quality Circle teams in their projects.

Person Specifications:
*Educated to degree level or significant experience in a similar environment
*Expert knowledge of operational management processes, procedures and practices
*Engineering background, preferably with an electrical bias
*Strong leadership skills with the ability to get the best from your team within the company's people driven culture
*Experience of working with international partners and stakeholders
*Excellent presentation skills with experience of delivering information at all levels
