'I am confident that I can spend as much time with a patient that is necessary'
Rowcroft Hospice is an independent charity that provides comfort, support and specialist care to over 2,000 patients and their loved ones across South Devon each year. Our Vision is to make every day the best it can be for all patients, and their families, living with life-limiting illnesses in South Devon.
We are recruiting HCAs to our Hospice at Home team in order for us to be able to provide care for more patients and families.
The HCA posts are night shifts supporting the night Sister/Charge Nurse to deliver care to patients. The H@H team are available to visit patients and families during the night and this role involves driving the registered nurse to the patients homes and assisting them with giving care as required.
Whilst our focus is the patient who wishes to die at home, we provide support and advice to the whole family, giving an opportunity to deliver holistic care to the whole household. The hospice at home team visited 440 patients at home last year, they provided symptom control, emotional, psychological and spiritual support whilst also providing hands on care.
The successful candidates would need to have experience in caring and an interest in palliative care. They would need to have excellent communication skills.
The postholders would be working shifts to cover 7 nights a week.
