The Corporate Paralegal / Junior Legal Counsel Opportunity:

Due to the majority of the business being in the United States, the legal function is primarily based in the US, with one lawyer in London. The London legal team is responsible for advising the company on Group level matters as well as supporting its operating divisions in the EMEA region.

The successful candidate will support the EMEA Legal Counsel in providing a broad range of legal advice across the business, both at Group level and to the various operational divisions in the EMEA region. The role will also work closely with in-house legal colleagues based in the US.

Key Responsibilities:

This is a broad role supporting our EMEA Legal Counsel with their varied day to day workload as required. Key responsibilities will include:

+ Reviewing, preparing, drafting and negotiating a variety of bespoke and industry standard commercial agreements for the operational businesses and Group functions
+ Management of certain legacy litigation claims in the region for the business and its subsidiaries
+ Assisting with the preparation and verification of Annual and Half Year Report and Results
+ Conducting online searches to assist with the implementation of our Third Party Vetting process
+ Assisting in the development and roll out of legal training to the business.

About You:

+ A self-starter with a willingness to learn and take the initiative when faced with new tasks/situations.
+ Demonstrable experience in preparing, drafting and negotiating a variety of commercial contracts and agreements.
+ Strong interpersonal skills coupled with a solutions-orientated and commercial approach to decision making.
+ Exposure to advising / working on multi-jurisdictional transactional work (Desirable)
+ A Law degree – min. 2:1 average or undergraduate degree plus GDL. LPC preferable but not essential.
+ Experience in paralegal role, preferable 1-2 years’ experience in-house or at an international firm
+ Contracts/corporate experience, or experience in handling large volume claims and third party vetting
+ Organised, proactive, with strong commercial awareness and communication skills.
