A leading Global Financial Institution is seeking to employ a Head of Business Financial Crime Risk, Commercial Bank (CMB) based in London.

The Head of Business Financial Crime Risk, CMB will be responsible for facilitating and managing activities that drive a consistent and effective Financial Crime Risk (FCR) management framework; advising and guiding senior stakeholders in the business and managing delivery of the defined CMB Business Financial Crime Risk (BFCR) standards; following up on key FCR issues with key stakeholders across Commercial Banking such as Financial Crime Compliance (FCC), Financial Crime Threat Mitigation (FCTM), Transaction Monitoring and Global; ensuring Non-Ring Fence Bank & CIIOM FC metrics meet mandated thresholds/targets as set by Global CMB / Regional CMB / Country CEO; ensuring front-line CMB teams are appropriately trained / knowledgeable around FC risks and responsibilities. The role holder will be required to oversee the continuous development of CMB’s reporting, processes and governance to improve the ability to detect, deter and remove financial crime risks within the business.
The Head of Business Financial Crime Risk, CMB will be accountable for ensuring projects and BFCR programmes adhere to regulatory requirements, CMB & Group policies and standards and minimize general risk to the Group; ensuring complete end-to-end financial crime risk coverage for CMB; helios reporting and facilitating issues and actions management processes and ensure any remediation activities are completed in an effective and timely manner; aligned to internal/regulatory expectations. The role holder will be responsible to oversee the establishment of the BFCR performance metrics and reporting process, ensuring sponsors receive the right information at the right time regarding Financial Crime performance.
The successful candidate will be a graduate and will have the following attributes:
- Sound understanding of Financial Crime Regulation and legislation requirements in a global environment;
- Strong understanding of Commercial Banking (environment, customers and offerings) with international exposure;
- Experience of owning and executing risk controls;
- Strong understanding of risk and control framework methodology, principles and industry standard;
- Excellent communication standards, stakeholder management skills (including international exposure) and governance report writing.
