Call handlers for the Emergency Services

£10.45 plus shift allowances


Day and nights shifts

Working closely with the Emergency services we are currently recruiting for a number of Call Handlers based in Lincoln.

The role involves working on a shift pattern including both day and night, 12 hour shifts

Understand this is a role that at times maybe be stressful and dealing with members of the public when they are in potentially vulnerable situations

The role is initially on a contract basis through Reed with a high likelihood of going permanent after 3 months

Lot's of training will be given

Duties of the role include but are not limited to:

Dealing with incoming calls often from people in crisis situations
Liaising with emergency service crews
Ensuring advice is correct, following the correct process
Paying attention to detail, being able to understand the nature of the incident

The successful candidates will:

Be able to stay calm under pressure
Give advice and updates in a clear and confident manner
Show understanding and compassion
Demonstrate good IT skills
Be able to type at a reasonable speed with the ability to document key points of a dialog they are part of
