We are currently looking for a Primary trained Teacher with Autism Experience to work at one of our schools near Frome.
Our client school is looking to recruit a full-time Teacher with experience of teaching young people in Primary phases on the Autistic spectrum as soon as possible. This job might be suitable for you if you have previously taught or supported young people with Autism.
Our school is currently looking to consider candidates with both practical and theoretical understanding of the spectrum. The ability to manage challenging behaviour is required but there are a high number of LSA support in the class. The ability to understand the condition and eagerness to come up with effective behavioural strategies will be key to build a rapport with the students.
This role might be ideal for you if:
-You worked with young people/young adults on the Autistic Spectrum.
-You have previously worked within an Education/Childcare/Alternative Education setting and have experience of working in Primary ages.
-You are available for work full-time.
-You have a flexible approach and have got understanding of Autism and use of MAKATON/PECS
-You are looking for a long-term Teaching position and hold QTS or equivalent.
-You currently reside near Frome or can commute/relocate within a reasonable amount of time. School is accessible with car and there are train links from Bath and Trowbridge.
-Special Educational Needs Experience
-Training in Makaton, PECS and Autism.
