A successful manufacturing business require a Procurement Manager. Applicants need end procurement experience (operational and strategic), and exposure to inventory management, stores, internal logistics and management/mentoring of staff.
This is an exciting greenfield opportunity to drive change and process improvement within the procurement function of a market-leading organisation. Responsible for all procurement and stores activity, the Procurement Manager will be responsible for the development of strategies, processes and staff. A broad, almost end-to-end supply chain position, this role would suit someone who has worked as a Supply Chain Manager or Materials Manager, in addition or as an alternative to a background in procurement.
Specific duties of the Procurement Manager include:
Create and implement best practices, policies and processes across procurement and inventory management
Review of current contracts and supply chain partners
Supplier selection, negotiation, contract award and on-going vendor management of the supply chain
Management of staff across procurement and stores area
Support the business with broader process improvement projects around the company ERP system
Procurement Manager applicants should meet the following criteria:
Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Inventory Management or Materials Management experience
Experience within a manufacturing or engineering business
Experience of managing/supervising staff, or the ability to do so
