Hours of work: 40 hours per week, 5 over 7
We are looking for a Store Manager to join store, newly developed/expanded Garden Centre with covered outdoor plant area and upcoming Café North of York
Job Purpose
Responsible for the day to day management of the store and garden centre. Ensuring the store delivers the highest customer service, through strong leadership skills, support, direction and leading by example. Preferably applicants should have garden centre and agricultural interests & knowledge, through either working in a farming environment or in an Agricultural Company.
Job Responsibilities
·Managing, supporting and developing the store/ garden centre teams.
·Maximising store sales performance through leading, coaching, motivating and supporting the store team. Planning staff rotas to ensure effective cover.
·Managing store KPI's and budgets to improve store performance.
·Supplier contact - ensure any product lines purchased for the business are commercially viable and in line with the trading strategy.
·Marketing - assist in marketing planning, campaigns and point of sale requirements.
·Customer Care - providing of product information, advice and general support. Ensure the team is delivering the highest possible customer service.
·Administration - daily cash control, product price tagging, store security.
·Stock Control - stock rotation, stock takes, and stock reconciliation.
·Maintain a high standard of product presentation and merchandising.
·Ensure high standards of housekeeping are maintained throughout the store/ garden centre. All product shelved or stacked, with daily recovery and replenishment in place and products correctly priced.
·Weekly ordering of stock and controlling levels to support sales.
·Ensure stock is rotated to avoid products being unsalable due to expiry dates.
·Adherence to safe working practices and Health and Safety instructions.
In addition to the above, the post holder will be expected to carry out any reasonable task which falls within the scope and purpose of the post, or which the Company deems is within their capabilities.
