Did you know that less than 6% of people in the UK with a learning disability have a paid job? And opportunities are likely to be even fewer because of greater general unemployment. That's where you come in!
Our No Limits division provides education for young people who have a learning disability and/or autism, and do not find it easy to access mainstream education. As young people approach the end of their education, many of them are hoping to gain employment.
Working closely with learners, their parents, local employers and Colleges, you will prepare and support them for employment opportunities and independent living.
You'll develop relationships with local employers, making suggestions for work experience, and match young people with appropriate placements.
You'll coach young people to develop their skills in researching and applying for jobs.About you
In addition to experience supporting people with learning disabilities, you will need the Level 3 Award in Education and Training or be willing to study to gain the qualification.
You'll be confident using technology, be well-organised and able to keep complex records.
Of course you'll need great communcation and networking skills, be able to empathise with both learners and with potential employers who may not have the knowledge to understand how they can step forward and provide new opportunities for young people.
You'll need to be a driver with you own transport.This is a 52 week position working 22.5 hours, over 3 days a week. Training and benefits
