Are you a passionate Teaching Assistant seeking a role for immediate start?

A diverse and creative primary school located in Waltham Forest, London are seeking an experienced Special Education Needs Teaching Assistant to join them as soon as possible to work in Early Years. This is a full time role on a year long contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a child with Autism in Early Years before embarking on your teaching or educational psychologist career. This will also suit an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is looking for a new challenge!

You will be working 1:1 supporting a child in Reception (Early Years) with ASD and will be responsible for overseeing their general development and well-being.

You will be well supported by the class teacher as well as the SENCO and you will have access to great resources and facilities to aid successful, fun and engaging teaching and learning.

You will also have access to great training courses to help build your skills and knowledge around EYFS and special educational needs.

The Ideal Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant:
  • Have a strong academic background (A*-C Grade GCSE) or hold a relevant degree
  • Have experience working in a child related environment - ideally Early Years or Primary School
  • Have SEN experience ideally
  • Have a strong understanding of SEN - Especially ASD
  • Have an excellent understanding of the Early Years curriculum
  • Have a real passion for working with children and with SEN
