An exciting opportunity has arisen to work for a globally leading science and technology company as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer.

The Aycliffe plant was established over 50 years ago, now with over 300 flexible and engaged employees we manufacture high quality products in both Occupational Health & Environmental Safety as well as the Vehicle after Market industry.

To support exciting developments, in products and manufacturing processers we are now seeking to recruit high calibre multi skilled maintainers

Person Profile

You will be a time served multi skilled electrical biased craftsman familiar with the maintaining and continuous improvement of high-speed assembly and packaging equipment.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for providing Maintenance support to facilitate maximum operational effectiveness of the site's manufacturing equipment and processes in line with the area's safety, quality and cost requirements. Engage in all activities as directed, to achieve safely the assigned area's work schedules in line with the Aycliffe Site expectations

Candidates will be required to carry out maintenance and repair, both planned and unplanned, on all automatic assembly machines and processes, ensuring maximum operational effectiveness in line with safety, quality and cost requirements

Candidates will also assist in new process implementation and continuous improvement activities.

In addition to possessing a relevant time-served apprenticeship, applicants need to be flexible, possess good problem-solving skills and capable of working both as a team and alone in a high-volume manufacturing environment

Candidates should have transferable skills from previous experience and employment

Knowledge & Skills

Proven history of working within a manufacturing maintenance environment with experience of Vision systems (cognex) Allen Bradley PLC's and drives, Pneumatic systems, Staubli robots , Injection Moulding machines and web handling systems. Be able to work as part in a multi-functional team and experience of Continuous improvement teams and SAP would be an advantage

Both positions require a willingness to work a reasonable amount of paid overtime as and when required

  • Served a recognised apprenticeship
  • HNC Electrical / Mechanical Engineering qualification

Initial 6 month contract. Pay rate will be £18.86-£19.64 / hr (3-shift), £21.89- £22.98 / hr (cont shift) dependent on skills and experience. This includes the shift allowance. OT will be available.
