Job DescriptionThe Project Manager for Sage Business Cloud will be responsible for managing the delivery of a key strategic project that involve a mixture of complex and less complex initiatives. The Senior Project Managers will be responsible for summarizing the progress and status of Sage Business Cloud Programme, both for overall project management and risk management purposes as well as for input into the portfolio management process. It requires collaboration with multiple teams across product, technology and release management team across different categories and segment to deliver the overall project. Responsible for initial project planning, estimating, and scheduling as well as management of the delivery of project results. Responsible to manage the completion of project deliverables and escalate issues to the appropriate manager, leader, or steering team.
Key ResponsibilitiesKey accountabilities and decision ownership:
1.Detailed project planning and control including;
-Developing and maintaining a detailed project plan
-Managing project deliverables in line with the project plan
-Recording and managing project issues and escalating where necessary
-Resolving cross-functional issues at project level.
-Managing project scope and change control and escalating issues where necessary
-Managing project training within the defined budget
-Liaises with, and updates progress to, project senior management
2.Develop and communicate project plans, risks and opportunities effectively.
3.Ensure effective project logistics are implemented and the responsibilities for project success are clear and agreed with key stakeholders.
4.Understand and communicate progress against agreed project level KPIs to the stakeholders ensuring one version of the truth.
5.Champion the use of best practice frameworks and templates to deliver efficiencies.
6.Deliver effective and meaningful status reports and keep project repositories updated with the latest information and updated artefacts
7.Analyse project retrospectives and trends by engaging with different teams, gathering lessons learned and adapting the process for future projects.
8.Work closely with key stakeholders to ensure the success of the Release Management Organisation
9.Assist with recruiting project staff and consultants
10.Managing co-ordination of the partners and working groups engaged in project work
11.Reporting functions to include, status, coordination, and consolidation of reports for sr. management
Skills, know-how and experience, must have:
1.5+ years in a Project Manager position and has lead significant number of successful complex software development cycles.
2.Recognized as a thought leader who is called upon to consult on the most difficult cross-product development deliverables.
3.Intimate knowledge of software development methodology including principles of the SDLC and Agile methodology.
4.Proven project management skills, including the ability to work across teams to plan, track, and drive cross-functional deliverables, priorities, and issues for projects of all sizes.
5.Experience with planning, tracking, and delivering software products targeted for external customers.
6.Ability to identify and drive to resolution a full range of product delivery, launch and program issues.
7.Ability to build trusted relationships at all levels within the organisation in a matrix environment across multiple teams and products
8.Strong experience in building schedules and roadmaps in MS Project and being able to show inter team dependencies
9.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills that adds value to project teams to enable successful execution
10.Ability to manage and influence multiple projects in an agile way, with the right level of engagement and priority that adds value
11.Able to provide broad-based business and organizational leadership to bring different teams together, build teams, plan multidisciplinary activities, resolve conflicts, and interface with the corporate team members at all levels
12.Must demonstrate superior ability in managing concurrent, multidisciplinary activities and ability to interact with management and executives.
13.Demonstrate a positive attitude and energy
14.Self-motivated, excellent work ethic, goal oriented and strong team player
15.Proficient in spoken and written English
16.Occasional travel will be required
