Job Paths 4 U are looking for a well-qualified, proactive and enthusiastic Nursery Manager for a busy, innovative and thriving Day Nursery based in Berkhamsted.

My client is looking for an 'Outstanding' nursery manager for their nursery in Berkhamsted, whose main focus is providing a high level of care for their children and ensuring each individual's child needs are met.

Nursery Manager duties and responsibilities include:
  • Lead and motivate the team to ensure the highest standards are maintained
  • Ensure that there is an effective key person system in place
  • Ensure the EYFS framework is delivered and met at all times
  • Lead the team in the planning and development of inspiring and creative environment
  • Lead the team in ensuring Safeguarding Children policies and procedures are followed
  • Help lead on Ofsted and all other inspections both internal and external
  • Liaise and work alongside staff members and external agencies where necessary
  • Input termly data to ensure children are making progress
  • Manage staff issues in line with the HR Policies and procedures
  • Ensure the nursery is fully compliant and ratios are met at all times
  • Monitor the budget and expenditure in the nursery
  • Be responsible for Health and Safety throughout the nursery
  • Review and monitor occupancy levels to ensure they are maintained to maximum capacity
  • Proactively market and promote the nursery to maximize occupancy

Nursery Manager Requirements are:
  • At least a Level 3 childcare qualification that is "full and relevant" for early years
  • Good management and leadership skills
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent understanding of EYFS, child development and learning
  • Qualified to at least Level 6 with maths and Literacy key skills
  • Experience of working as a senior leader within a childcare environment
  • Have a full understanding of OFSTED standards and criteria and the ability to produce documentation required by the Independent Schools Inspectorate

Salary: Starting from £36,000 depending on experience
