My client is looking to recruit a Senior Finance Assistant for a newly created role. You will need to be an enthusiastic and pro-active person with a focus on managing the sales ledger, credit control and project accounting.

The role will work closely with the Financial Controller as well as the Commercial team and will be involved in many aspects of the business. It is therefore important to build strong relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities
  • Management of the sales ledger
  • Reviewing customer contracts and Purchase Orders to start the invoicing process
  • Raising sales invoices and uploading to online portals
  • Responsible for credit control function, contacting customers and their accounts payable departments by phone or email as and when required
  • Cash allocation of payments received
  • Producing billing forecast and reporting, liaising with Commercial team on time lines and milestones to make sure invoices are raised accurately and on time
  • Assisting Financial Controller in weekly cash flow forecasting, responsible for updating debtors forecast
  • Weekly invoicing/credit control reports
  • Project reconciliations, reported both internally and externally
  • Regular meetings with Commercial team regarding actual costs to date and forecast costs
  • Preparing client revenue report for monthly management accounts
  • Preparing job cost reporting and variance analysis for monthly management accounts
  • Assisting Financial Controller with Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Assisting Financial Controller with adhoc. duties and cover purchase ledger when needed

Key Attributes/Competencies
  • Part qualified ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
  • Experience from working with Xero, WorkflowMax and Salesforce would be beneficial
  • Intermediate Excel skills
  • Excellent attention to details
  • Good understanding of double entry accounting and reconciliations
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships, both internally and externally
