Role Purpose
Scottish Borders Council is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Engineer to work primarily within the Roads Team. The successful applicant will play a vital role in assisting in the management of the Councils Infrastructure Assets, primarily roads, drainage, footways, cattlegrids and barriers. This will typically involve using and providing technical expertise to deliver capital and revenue schemes relating to these assets. The role also involves the design, inspection and completion of condition assessments for these assets.

Qualification Requirements

Educated to HND or HNC in Civil Engineering with evidence of relevant experience and training.
SVQ Level 3 in a relevant discipline or willing to obtain within agreed timescales on appointment
Technician Membership of Institution of Civil Engineers or Institution of Highways and Transportation, or willing to obtain within agreed timescale on appointment.

A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post.
