Head of Controlling

About the role
This challenging role will see you manage and lead a Controlling team made up of technical experts who between them develop, implement and maintain reliable financial and non-financial information that influences business performance and helps support decision making within our corporate governance framework. In addition they manage the budget and forecast processes, analysing data to identify trends and make recommendations.

Your focus will be two fold. Firstly, to provide day to day management to the team in terms of setting goals, holding regular 1 to 1's, taking care of recruitment needs that come your way etc. Secondly, your team will look to you for leadership and guidance, taking them on the journey as we look to adjust and align our services to business strategy and product changes. They will look to you to set the tone and pace and help the department to understand and then deliver the value add the business needs. Ultimately, you will assist the CFO in ensuring the business meets its financial objectives.

This is an exciting time to join our business as we evolve from pure leasing and grow our market leading 'mobility' products. We are looking to implement SAS imminently and you will play an important part in this and earlier this year we were excited to have been selected by Group to set up a Robotic Process Automation (RPA) team.

About you
We are looking for a driven, energetic and confident individual with excellent leadership and true business Partnering skills: a natural networker who can communicate with all business areas to understand their priorities, concerns and requirements and then feed this important information back to the team. In addition, you will need to give examples of when you have been hands on to help your team come up with solutions and get the all-important day to day work done, as this will be vital to your success here. You will also need to evidence commercial acumen through recommending change and seeing it through, explaining the reasoning and the outcomes. Lastly and unsurprisingly, you will need to be qualified (ideally ACCA/CIMA or ACA) and a proven accountant. Someone with strong analytical skills who is comfortable getting into the detail, understanding the data and coming up with recommendations. Experience with SAS would be the icing on the cake and RPA knowledge the cherry!

Key Skills required:

  • Proven Leadership and People Management experience
  • Driven mentality whilst keeping Customer focused at all times
  • Advanced internal stakeholder and partnering skills
  • Strong Analytical (Excel) and Accountancy skills
  • Experience with SAS and SAS implementation (ideally)
  • RPA experience (ideally)
  • Commercial acumen and Change Management qualities
