Project and Contract Accountant

We are looking for a Finance Specialist to undertake this challenging and diverse role.
The role will involve provision of accounting support for the Defence and National Security (DNS) Business Unit. With the support of a wider team, the purpose of this role is to provide accounting support to new and recent contracts wins within the Business Unit.
This role requires effective management of finance processes of medium to complex programs and projects, including internal control and policy compliance, and support to management decision-making through provision of relevant business information and analysis.

-Ensuring that the month end closing cycle is followed to required timescales
-Ensuring that all compliance requirements are met, particularly ensuring that Group Accounting Policy is followed, J-Sox requirements are met, lifetime models are maintained, and cockpit reports (Fujitsu Global) are created where required
-Helping to manage working capital through accurate forecasting
-Supporting and challenge the business to ensure that quarterly, Mid Term Plan and other forecasting information is gathered correctly and has integrity but is owned and understood by the business
-Providing information required by DNS business partners, financial planning and analysis, and other finance stakeholders
-Supporting external and internal audit processes
-Ensuring that external customer reporting and open book requirements are met and building of strong working relationships with customer finance teams where applicable
-Providing finance input to DNS new business opportunities
· CIMA / ACCA qualified with experience of providing business support, post qualification
· Good organisational skills with ability to work to tight deadlines and possessing strong attention to detail
· Excellent IT Skills including Excel
· IT Services or contract accounting experience desirable
· Possessing or ability to attain SC clearance
