James Fisher Marine Services have an opportunity for an experienced Finance Manager to join the team based in Liverpool. As our Finance Manager you will have managed month ends, be competent with modelling systems, able to work autonomously and have responsibility for ensuring the integrity, timeliness and efficiency of financial accounting, reporting and KPIs and Controls

Principal Accountabilities
  • Lead the accounts assistants junior to create clear objectives, coach, supervise, develop and provide technical assistance
  • Maintain integrity of JFMS Balance Sheet through regular reviews and monthly reconciliations
  • Assist in preparation of Statutory Accounts
  • Production of VAT & Intrastat reporting
  • Management of fixed asset reporting & Stock management
  • Main contact point for external auditors ensuring audits run smoothly
  • JFMS overhead reporting across divisions
  • Be the gatekeeper of SAGE accounting software including general overview of accounting transactions, correction of any erroneous postings, closing of ledgers for periods
  • Management of payroll submission for JFMS to Corporate
  • Completion of other regular ad hoc corporate requirements
  • Ensure compliance with all corporate internal controls, adherence to internal audit recommendations and keeping financial reporting documents documentation
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as required in supporting the JFMS Financial Controller & Director including forecasts and budgets

Knowledge Skills & Experience

  • Strong IT skills including experience in using Microsoft Office

  • Be able to prioritise work and ability to manage time in order to meet deadlines
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or ACCA)
  • Successful experience of managing people and teams
  • Change implementation experience.
  • Relevant experience in a senior finance or accounting related role
