About the Department

SSE Enterprise Contracting is one of the UK's largest Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) contractors with a product/service portfolio ranging from M&E LV, HV, Instrumentation, Street Lighting, Facilities Management through to Combined Heat and Power solutions.

What is the Role?

Our Business Unit in Dundee is currently looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager, with an Electrical background, to join the dynamic team to assist in business growth and expansion in this field of our business.

You'll be involved in the Contract and Project Management of multiple infrastructure projects whilst supporting a wider team of project engineers throughout. You'll be responsible for the leadership and ownership of LV/HV projects and the delivery of tender activity, pre-design and safety management.

Additional responsibilities will include managing internal and contractor resource, financial reporting, process management and escalation management to appropriate standards.

What Do I Need?

To be successful in this role, you'll have significant experience of managing a portfolio of projects ranging from £1m to £5m in an electrical contracting environment. You'll ideally have a HNC qualification or equivalent in an electrical or mechanical discipline, although this is not essential if relevant experience can be demonstrated. A track record of delivering Healthcare Projects would be advantageous

We would also be looking for you to have; a working knowledge of CDM Regulations 2015, experience and knowledge of management of NEC3 Contracts, an understanding of technical drawings and knowledge of general office applications, inclusive of MS Project and Prima Vera P6. SMSTS or equivalent is desirable but not essential as training can be undertaken.

You'll also have excellent project management and communication skills, as well as good client, customer and stakeholder relationship building skills with the ability to work in a team environment. You'll have experience of managing operational teams, direct and in direct labour, achieving and setting targets, and be able to apply financial and budgetary controls to maximise profit returns.

A full UK driving license is vital for this role as well as a passion for safety and the ability to work within a team as well as independently.
