Cost Accountant / Management Accountant needed for our Sudbury based client, ideally to start immediately. As Cost Accountant / Management Accountant you will be AAT qualified, have an understanding of financial regulation and legislation, strong attention to detail, a high level of accuracy, a knowledge of accounting terms and concepts, particularly standard costing, ideally worked within a manufacturing industry but most of all a genuine interest in pursuing a career in management accounts. In your role as Cost Accountant / Management Accountant, you will relay information from the accounting department to the Management team and be responsible for a variety of duties within the finance team.
Assisting in the production of Year End Accounts
Preparing financial statements for internal and external use.
Create, review and investigate gross margin reports.
Assist with preparation of the annual budget, with specific responsibility for the production of the orders and sales budgets in conjunction with the sales teams.
Maintaining records and support auditing efforts.
Recording financial transactions for projects, departments, or companies.
Month End Reporting including Gross Margin Reports
Annual revaluation of costing rates
Assisting in the operational decision-making process through monitoring expenditure reports
Participate in costing review projects to ensure validity and accuracy of base data.
Production of costings & monthly reports for management pack
Assist with preparation of the mid-year sales and profit forecast.
Working hours Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm
Successfully completed a Degree or AAT qualification and have a genuine interest in pursuing a career within Management Accounts. Potential to study for the CIMA qualification.
Understanding of Finance regulation and legislation.
Analytical & critical thinking skills.
Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Ideally possess previous experience within the manufacturing industry
Knowledge of accounting terms and concepts, particularly standard costing.
Excellent communication skills and an ability to build relationships with all levels within the organisation.
Knowledge of business strategy and methodology, strategic thinking skills.
