Join the largest Further Education College in the UK as a Library Manager on a permanent, full time (37 hours per week) basis.

The Manchester College is based at many sites across the city, each with its own specialist cutting edge facilities within a friendly and supportive environment.

The purpose of this role is to:

Support the Deputy Principal and Director in the development and delivery of an innovative and forward-thinking Library strategy, that will transform the library service and support the College's vision and Estates Strategy.

Provide effective operational leadership for all Library colleagues to ensure an outstanding and sector leading service is provided by all libraries to our diverse range of learners and colleagues.

Develop and manage a user-focused, digitally driven and socially inclusive Library service that responds to external changes, exceeds the expectations of learners and colleagues, is fully utilised and demonstrates value.

Implement a dynamic approach to service delivery, engagement and collaboration that ensures all libraries provide an outstanding service.

To do this successfully you will need:


GCSE grades A-C (or equivalent) in English and Maths

Evidence of further study and training relating to libraries

Proven experience of effectively managing a large library team and achieving positive impact, from within a Further/Higher Education setting

An excellent understanding of Further and Higher Education and the opportunities and challenges for the library service
