Purpose of the Role:

The Cyber Transformation Manager is responsible for the group-wide cyber programme and related governance and reporting (including financial management and reporting in respect of allocated funding). The Manager is also responsible for oversight / governance of all segment owned/led cyber security roadmaps (incorporating funded change projects and key BAU initiatives).

The role also has direct responsibility for management and delivery of agreed Group CISO owned workstream project activities.

The Manager ensures that a rational and risk based schedule of work is defined and controlled, that resources/roles are aligned to deliver against expectations, and that a high-quality result is achieved in partnership with business leads and in alignment with the Cyber Strategy and Sponsor expectations of scope, budget, and schedule.

Key Role Accountabilities:
  • Works with Sponsor(s) to identify key stakeholders and appropriate escalation paths and works within the defined channels
  • Monitors progress of the Programme and underlying projects against the overall programme plan and against the Cyber Strategy and objectives.
  • Provide governance and financial control across all Cyber CapEx/Exceptional projects for the Group CISO and the Group IT & Advisory segment
  • Maintain challenge and oversight of the delivery of all other segment cyber remediation plans, whether as projects or BAU, and report their impact on risk mitigation across the Group
  • Administers, facilitates, supports and/or directly manages appropriate programme/project governance, processes and documentation - including Steer Co reporting, project change management, project planning and scheduling, risk/issue management, communication, etc.
  • Monitors and controls project teams and segment performance so that all processes and deliverables are completed and approved pursuant to the relevant group policy and standards
  • Proactively engages cyber security industry via networks and suppliers, maintaining strong knowledge of current/ latest security products and developments
  • Secures and manages - where required - appropriate project resources
  • Ensures programme and/or project team members aligned to cyber related project deliveries have appropriate understanding and skill-sets
  • Identifies and informs Sponsor(s) of variances, inefficiencies, bottlenecks and resource conflicts
  • Manages and reports on programme/project investment approved at BIG including variances
  • Understands and manages inter-Programme/Project and production/release dependencies, and risks and issues
  • Where appropriate, coordinates the preparation / readiness of business and project teams for transition to BAU / go live

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Proven track record of Programme, Project, and Business Management within large and medium sized, complex Programmes and Projects.
  • Cyber Security background / proven expertise (any / various domains)
  • Up to date knowledge of cyber security industry developments, products, suppliers, vendors etc
  • Risk Management knowledge and expertise
  • Exec level presentation and reporting experience and skills (advanced)
  • Accounting and/or Financial Management expertise / understanding

Person Specification:
  • Mature approach to presenting and / or handling challenge at Executive Director level and below
  • Knowledge of Programme/project management delivery methods and frameworks
  • Expertise in programme and project governance and controls
  • Understanding of cost versus benefit case analysis including supporting risk-based assessment
  • Excellent presentation and facilitation skills
  • Negotiating, influencing, effective challenge and gaining commitment
  • Broad business perspective and acumen
  • Risk Management acumen / capability - ideally within IT and cyber security disciplines
  • Financial acumen and capability to support the challenge of business cases and financial controls
  • Effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Resourceful - with strong cyber security networks including knowledge of security vendors and products
  • The ability to command respect and to create a sense of community amongst segments and the members of the project teams
  • Good knowledge of techniques for planning, monitoring and controlling programmes
  • Sound business case development and approvals skills
  • Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
  • Sufficient seniority and credibility to advise project teams on their projects in relation to the Programme
  • The ability to find ways of solving or pre-empting problems
