The bpi division sits within the Consumer Packaging International business of Berry Global Inc. a US listed company with an annual turnover of around $13bn and over 40,000 employees.

The bpi division has manufacturing sites across the UK, Germany, France, Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland, Poland, Romania, Spain and Canada. The division has a turnover of around $1.3bn and boasts a wide range of plastic technologies including blown flexible film, roto-moulding, injection moulding and blow moulding.

The Opportunity

We have an opportunity for an Engineering Manager to join our Greenock site to support the development and growth of our Engineering team.

What are the day to day responsibilities?

Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the main responsibilities of the role include;

·Deliver innovative cost effective solutions to all engineering problems and meet all engineering targets

·Develop an Engineering plan to ensure that root cause analysis and continuous improvement are carried out across site

·Support the Operations Manager to drive tactical and strategic actions to achieve optimum availability of production capabilities

·Manage all aspects of the engineering needs of the business

·Manage the engineering budget and preventative maintenance plan

·Ensure that the Engineering team is fully utilised and developed whilst balancing the need for contractors

·Drive change across Engineering

·Ensure compliance with all quality, environmental and H&S standards

What requirements do I need to apply?

Applicants will ideally come from an electrical or mechanical background. You should be highly motivated, resilient and determined to succeed in this challenging environment. You possess excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise whilst maintaining flexibility.

Applicants should have the desire and ability to continually develop their team's skills as well as their own. You must be an excellent team player with leadership qualities and be able to communicate effectively at all levels.
