Role overview:

Tes Institute is the accredited teacher training and development arm of Tes. We offer a wide range of flexible blended and online teaching qualifications and professional development both in the UK and globally, and have qualified around 4000 teachers via both our PGCE/iPGCE and QTS routes.

This role is focused on ensuring there is strong governance and regulatory management across Tes Institute's portfolio, and that we remain fully compliant with all regulatory, accreditation and Quality Assurance requirements, including Ofsted, relevant GDPR, contractual and data management processes that form a central part of maintaining successful outcomes for large numbers of learners, tutors and delivery partners.

As we grow our international business, the postholder will also be responsible for identifying local/regional regulations in new markets and helping Tes Institute successfully navigate and meet new requirements as they arise.

Key role responsibilities:

Manage overall programme compliance and governance for accredited courses, including support for the Programme Directors and Programme Operations team. Handling all related compliance issues to ensure regulatory and Ofsted requirements and programme criteria are met (e.g. DBS checks, bursary and funding requirements, immigration and visa requirements). Providing timely and accurate guidance on all related processes and procedures
Working closely with the central Legal and Technology Governance teams, contribute to and deliver regular reviews of policies and procedures, ensuring all statements, documents, Terms and Conditions, partnership agreements and policies are compliant and updated in line with regulatory, legal or curriculum changes
Ensuring Tes Institute's compliance with all GDPR requirements. Acting as departmental Data Champion in conjunction with the central Technology Governance Team, incorporating:
Maintain a Record of Processing Activities (RoPA), Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) and Privacy Policies relating to Tes Institute (TI) data processing.
Be the point of contact for personal data breaches and be able to log and remediate such actions within 72 hours.
Maintain and own the third party contracts for third party providers that assist in the provision of the TI programme suites.
Be the point of contact for employees at TI on governance matters and the point of contact for the Tes Global Tech Governance Team at TI.
Lead on and maintain the relevant training, including records for all employees, contractors and other agents of TI.
Be able to support and liaise with international expansion of TI programmes.
Co-ordinate corporate risk management activities for TI
Maintain business impact assessments (BIAs) and co-ordinate business continuity plans for TI
Where necessary, undertake and/ or co-ordinate compliance audits across TI in support of Tes policies
Provide advice and guidance on international regulations around data protection and privacy compliance
Provide tailored training and awareness for Pathway tutors and other key groups/ individuals within TI around governance and compliance
Provide general contractual support for the Tes Institute team in conjunction with the central Legal team as needed, including support with drafting and review of SLAs, NDAs, school and stakeholder partnership agreements/MoUs, consultancy and tutor agreements
Provide support and guidance in the preparation and drafting of bids and tenders in line with regulatory, accreditation and funding requirements and/or new business opportunities
Complaint handling and investigationEducation and experience requirements:

Educated to Degree level or above
Experience in managing compliance, data and risk management and corporate governance
Experience in/understanding of the education/teacher training landscape and regulatory requirements. Ideally experience of providing compliance support for Ofsted requirements and both academic and vocational programmes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills and good analytical abilities
Highly collaborative and able to work flexibly with a range of teams and individuals
Good understanding of GDPR compliance and procedures
Experience in managing and drafting bids, assessing eligibility and funding criteria and providing guidance on regulatory frameworks
Comfortable with technology with good IT skills What do you get in return?
