Ipswich High School is a leading independent day school in Suffolk. The school is situated in the beautiful surroundings of Woolverstone Hall, amongst 84 acres with superb facilities.

As a result of an internal promotion, we seek to appoint an experienced Learning Support Assistant to work with pupils and staff in our Senior School. You must be competent and confident in supporting pupils up to at least GCSE level and have had experience of working with pupils with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia, autism and ideally speech and language difficulties. Knowledge of supporting pupils in mathematics and the sciences up to GCSE level would be particularly advantageous.

You will be joining a small and highly effective Learning Support team, led by our whole-school SENCO. The ability to form excellent relationships with pupils and staff is essential as well as being prepared to be self-motivated and flexible and forward thinking in your approach. Having a high level of initiative and patience, as well as the desire to want to make learning as accessible and enjoyable for pupils irrespective of their level of need, is of the utmost importance. Value added for our SEND pupils at GCSE and A Level is exceptionally positive and a commitment to ensuring this remains the best-it-can-be is also essential.

This is a part time post of 27 or 26 hours per week. Please be aware that you must be prepared to work within the hours of 08:30-16:30 Monday - Thursday and 08:30-15:30 on a Friday. One of the four days must be a Monday, if a Friday is preferable, this will make the hours of the post 26 due to an earlier school day finishing time.
