Software Engineer Apprentice - Level 3 to 7

Sintela Ltd is a young, fast-growing company working at the forefront of distributed fibre-optic sensing. Our systems are used around the world and across a diverse set of industries.

Sintela is seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic candidate with a passion for technology and the desire to pursue a career in software development, software testing or systems engineering. You will join a highly experienced team of engineers who will support, train and mentor you.

This role is open to candidates wishing to progress through Apprentice levels 3 to level 7 (GCSE though to Degree) and is open to anyone currently within this range or with the equivalent experience. Consideration will also be made for candidates that wish do a part time degree or equivalent.

The goal

To become a qualified, professional software engineer.

The role

Depending on experience your typical day may include:
  • Testing new software features
  • Managing cloud services or solving basic IT problems
  • Writing basic software modules
  • Fixing software bugs
  • Updating technical documentation
  • Assisting in data analysis tasks

and with experience:
  • Designing and implementing complex, full stack software
  • Designing and implementing algorithms
  • Travelling the world to test and evaluate systems across multiple industries

You must have
  • Five GCSE's grades C to A* (4-9) or equivalent including maths
  • A passion for technology and problem solving
  • The ambition to learn and progress
  • The discipline and attention to detail to deliver quality work
  • An interest in physics and maths

  • Experience in writing software

  • Salary dependent on experience
