About the Role
The right analysis and management of data allows a business to continually change and improve. In our mission to be the Best Loved insurer, LV= is always looking for ways to stay ahead of the market, creating systems and solutions, and adding value to all areas of the business.
In the role of Operational Analyst, you will provide support and insight for General Insurance Operations. You will provide clear data analysis to inform the business, guiding and informing stakeholders at every level. You will support your business area with the provision of data, reporting and analysis and support any projects and initiatives.
As an analyst, you will be able to prepare insight and review trends, putting forward recommendations and solutions to improve processes and services within Claims.
Using your expertise in SQL, you will be able to query datasets from various sources, then present this data in professional reports to stakeholders at all levels and with varying degrees of technical understanding. You possess advanced Excel skills and expertise in Power BI, and communicate your insight to any audience with confidence, credibility, and clarity.
Sharing best practice with your team mates is essential to ensure the whole team is able to exploit our data to drive business changes and influence key decision-makers, always focusing on the crucial strategic objectives and disregarding 'noise' and distractions from what really matters.
In keeping with the LV= culture, you will be a positive role model with the confidence to challenge thinking, constantly strive for better, and be open and flexible to new developments and changes in direction as the business evolves.
You will ideally have a general insurance claims background - and certainly have worked in financial services - which will ensure that you are able to 'hit the ground running' with a pro-active approach to all your duties, and an intuitive understanding of the kind of insight that is beneficial to our leaders and people. Experience in using your data analysis and influence to turn customer and business needs and concepts into workable processes and solutions is vital.
Your technology competency must include:
- MS Office to an advanced competency, particularly Excel
- Data visualisation tools, in particular Power BI
- An awareness of a statistical programming language such as R/Python is desirable
You will design strategic solutions to provide business leaders with decision support and analytical tools to shape business strategy.
You will build close working relationships with operational managers and other support functions to ensure that complex data and business requirements are fully captured and understood so that appropriate and innovative solutions are delivered in line with customer requirements.
You will be responsible for the timely and accurate production of insight, working pro-actively with the data development team to maximise the analytical potential of the data held in our various source systems and external data sources.
