We are looking to hire an innovative Mechanical Design Engineer to join our growing team in Slough. You will be part of the overall Research & Development business unit and will be particularly responsible for Dry Gas Seal selection for centrifugal compressors and related Turbo Machinery.

You will also perform a variety of mechanical engineering design tasks related to Dry Gas Seal products, deal directly with customers and you will be responsible for retrofits, aftermarket gas seal selections and point solutions for bespoke applications as well

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Produce technical reviews and seal selections
  • Produce Concept sketches, General Arrangement drawings in CAD, both 2D and 3D
  • Participate in projects in the support of product evolution and point solutions
  • Conduct basic FEA within the constraints of the application, considering both individual components and assemblies, establishing accurate boundary conditions.
  • Support with customer queries and field incidents
  • Provide engineering support to internal customers with guidance from a supervisor or senior engineer

The Individual
  • You have an accredited Bachelor's or Master`s degree in engineering or science and you have some post-graduate work experience as well
  • Hands-on work experience and technical affinity is preferred
  • You can use 2D&3D CAD effectively to produce conceptual sketches for proposal drawings
  • Use of CSTEDY (proprietary CFD/FEA package) and FEA (ANSYS) evaluation of stress and deformation, thermodynamic and fluid dynamics is ideal
  • You could be successful in this position if you are customer focused, you can solve problems easily, you have good organisational skills and good technical communication skills.
