Clarus Education are currently seeking to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a child in Reception who has Autism and is non-verbal. The appointed candidate must already have experience using picture communication methods such as PECS or Makaton and be confident in their ability to support a child with complex needs.

The SENCo is keen to appoint a proven Graduate with a sound knowledge of SEN as well as previous hands-on experience. She is looking for someone who is committed, hardworking and able to use their own initiative.

Role Details

·Providing tailored 1:1 support to a Reception child with Autism (non-verbal)

·Liaising with the SENCO & SALT

·Delivering daily Speech & Language interventions

·ASAP start - long term role for the full academic year

·Scope to be offered a permanent contract for September 2021

·£70-£80 per day

Person Specification

·2:1 or above at degree level

·Sound academic background

·Previous SEN experience is crucial, ideally Autism

·You must be confident in picture communication languages e.g. PECS, Makaton

·Ideal role for a future SALT, Educational/ Clinical Psychologist
