The Physical Education department consists of seven PE staff, led by a Head of Department, who works closely alongside a Head of Girls PE. All members of staff assist in the delivery of PE & Games lessons and a range of extra-curricular activities, including participation in local and county competitive sport competitions. A BTEC is offered as an optional subject at KS4 and students can further develop their interest in our subject in the Sixth Form, where the BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Sport is delivered. Staff also provide additional support to students studying these courses, in the form of after-school workshops and the department is proud of the consistently successful results that are achieved.
The department adopts a child-centred approach towards PE & Games lessons. In terms of inter and intra-school sport, competition is encouraged and excellence rewarded. That said, fundamental to all that is done is the desire to involve and to motivate all students regardless of their level of ability. Every effort is made to ensure that the element of pleasure is never lost sight of by those taking part; the participation of the many is not sacrificed for the achievements of the few

Information about the school
Fulston Manor is an extremely successful, non-selective school, with a current roll of 1367, which includes a rapidly growing sixth form of approximately 300 and intense pressure for places in all other years. In addition to the school's reputation for academic success and quality pastoral care, we are also involved in a significant amount of work with other schools, both providing intensive support and delivering a wide range of training opportunities. We have close links with local universities and are particularly proud of our staff induction programmes.
As lead school within a multi-academy trust, which includes a local primary school, there are numerous opportunities for staff to broaden their own professional experience and to seek career progression within the school. Many of our staff have achieved internal promotion and individually tailored development programmes ensure that appropriate training and support is provided for all. Everyone is encouraged to participate in whole school improvement work and we believe that this participation is a major factor in our continuing success.
Fulston Manor is consistently one of the highest performing non-selective schools in Kent, this success is based on the quality of our staff and the excellence of our induction and support programmes. The school offers an outstanding learning environment for all its students.
Fulston Manor is focused on developing students into young citizens capable of making a difference. Here, at Fulston, we have a strong pastoral system at our core and we pride ourselves on being about strong traditional family values.
