PHP Developer (Symfony)

Colchester, Essex

£40,000-45,000 + benefits

Excellent opportunity for someone who is looking to take on responsibility and have autonomy over their own workload and roadmap.

TEC Partners are working with a highly thought of business in Colchester, who are looking to internalise their hugely successful website. They have got the ball rolling on bringing the site in-house, but require an experienced PHP Developer to come in and take full control over that project.

The site is a huge contributor to the company turnover, and they anticipate that their digital channels will be a significant factor in the company's evolution in the years to come, so this is a hugely important project for them.

Initially, you'll be tasked with getting the ball rolling on slowly bringing the work in-house, so there will be a need to liaise with the 3rd party. Long term, the goal is to have the site fully in-house, and have an internal team that will be responsible for the continual enhancement of the site. Naturally, as the first person in this new team, that provides great prospects from a personal and professional point of view.

In terms of required skills, a knowledge of the following would make you a suitable candidate:

- 3 + years of PHP development using the Symfony framework

- knowledge of HTTP protocols and RESTFul API development

- Front end skills using HTML, CSS and JavaScript (ReactJS)

- Familiarity with AWS environments

The company have negotiated the last six months brilliantly, and continued to thrive in a heavily affected industry. They have been fortunate to have all staff back in the office (purely voluntarily, I might add), in a safe and operationally productive manner, which I think speaks volumes for their culture.

For more details on the role, and the company, please get in touch with Will at TEC Partners.
