1st Line Support Technician required for leading Colchester based client for their head office in Colchester. As the firm's IT Service Desk Technician, you will be required to take ownership of IT support issues, and as the team is small you will have the exposure to all levels of IT support from 1st line to 2nd line. You will assist the IT Manager and the Chief Operating Officer in the delivery of the firm's IT, and related facilities. The firm has a strong commitment to personal and professional development for their staff as well as putting the client experience at the heart of everything they do and therefore one of the most important attributes they are looking for in the person for this role is desire and ability to learn quickly. This position of 1st Line Support Technician is a great opportunity for someone who wants to increase their technical exposure and to get involved with matters all the way to 3rd line.

The Role:

Provide solutions to desktop, mobile and system problems, diagnose and solve hardware/software incidents/problems
Responsible for managing mailboxes and maintaining the firms Exchange mail server
Troubleshoot document production in Microsoft Word, PDF, Excel etc.
Maintain and administer users on the telephone system
Responsible for moving hardware to new locations within the offices and be able to navigate a comms cabinet to ensure devices are patched into the correct network switches
Responsible for installing and maintaining printers and replenishing toners
Create and maintain users in Active Directory
Undertake basic trouble shooting with the firms CMS and PMS software
Establish and maintain a healthy working relationship with the business and third-party suppliers, as the successful candidate will be the onsite liaison for their external third-party support
Understand and promotes GDPR compliance by staff
Understand and adhere to IT security principles
The Person

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills
Be naturally customer service orientated and willing to go the extra mile for your colleagues
Excellent organisational skills
Possess some experience in a similar position
Experience in the following is desired, but not essential; Watchguard firewalls, VMWare, MDaemon, Veeam Backup and Replication, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft SQL Server, Remote Desktop Services
Have the ability to liaise will all levels of staff
Demonstrate a flexible and adaptable approach to the role.

Salary is £20,000 - £23,000 dependent on experience and ability
