Bridgnorth Aluminium Ltd has firmly established itself as a trusted supplier of rolled Aluminium products since 1933. Our knowledge and experience spans many decades, evident in the work we do today to which we supply the Lithographic, Automotive, Can Body Stock and Foil Sectors of Industry. We are a 74 acre site which is located; as the name implies, in the historic town of Bridgnorth and within a 25min commute from towns such as Telford, Shrewsbury, Kidderminster and Wolverhampton, 40mins from Birmingham, Worcester, Stafford and Redditch.

As a Programme Manager, you will be using your skills and expertise and will be responsible for the planning, executing and leading of project activities for manufacturing projects, equipment specifications, supplier selections, equipment commissioning and validation. You'll coordinate the preparation of our proposals, business plans, budgets and financial terms and conditions of contracts, act as the primary contact for program activities, and lead program review sessions to discuss cost, schedule and performance.

ESSENTIAL - Candidates must have strong Engineering Manufacturing experience within a related field of the Metal Rolling industry and be able to demonstrate experience working from shop floor to senior management in a manufacturing environment with a good working knowledge of CDM regulations.

Programme Manager - Main tasks will include:
  • Executing capital and improvement projects from conception to handover
  • Evaluating, organising and prioritising workload within a schedule, with following deadlines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget
  • Identifying and managing project blockers ensuring critical paths are not affected
  • Investigating and reviewing new technologies and innovations related to project development
  • Be responsible for program performance, schedules, budgets and resources, obtaining quotes and managing costs for project related tasks
  • Work with engineers, business managers and manufacturing personnel to define, plan and monitor program execution to ensure there is a smooth transition from project to operations to manufacture
  • History of managing technical development programs, personnel, and complete product lifecycles
  • A working knowledge of CDM regulations
  • Report program accomplishments, progress, issues, and financial status
  • Identify risks, and define and implement risk management plans
  • Interact with internal and external customers and suppliers and contractors, making sure their expectations are met; while working on follow-on business opportunities with all
  • Support business development efforts by managing proposal efforts, and pricing products and services
  • Travel to various locations to attend program reviews with customers, co-contractors and colleagues within the wider group


Programme Manager - The successful candidate will need:
  • ESSENTIAL - (minimum) BSc or BEng in an Engineering, Scientific or Technical field and 5 to 10+ years of relevant experience - Experience of high level project engineering within a metal rolling manufacturing/production industry, including machinery installation and commissioning is required for this role and applications without this will not be considered
  • The ability to interrogate and manage data and to write concise and cogent reports
  • Excellent IT skills including use of Office and CAD packages
  • Proficient using Microsoft Office applications including MS Project for scheduling, resourcing and tracking progress
  • Experience as a people supervisor/manager would prove highly advantageous
  • Prince 2 qualification or equivalent - preferred or higher

Due to the nature of the business, the incumbent for the role of Programme Manager should be aware that under special circumstances (e.g., breakdowns, outage periods, etc.) longer working hours or working over weekends/holidays might be required to fulfil the duties of the role.
