About the Company

North West Housing Services is a leading provider of finance, maintenance, property investment and housing management services to housing co-operatives, small housing associations, leaseholders and social enterprises. We are based in Liverpool and operate throughout the North West of England.

About the Role

Reporting to the Accounts Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high quality services to our members. You will be responsible for scanning, posting of invoices, co-ordinating the purchase ledger and rent accounting systems, preparing payments, maintaining Sage Accounts systems, treasury reports and internal controls, posting journals and general office duties. An integral part of the post will be close liaison between various departments and working with our members.

This is a challenging and demanding role offering an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic customer-focused team, dedicated to making a real difference to the community. This post is ideally suited to an individual seeking experience in a finance department.

The post holder will be part of our Finance Team based in our Devonshire Road office in Liverpool, but may also work from clients' offices.

Proficient spreadsheet skills
Strong numeracy, literacy and accuracy skills
Ability to work to tight deadlines

Studying towards a recognised business / accountancy qualification
Ability to create and maintain own filing systems to organise and plan own work

Desirable Skills:

Experience of working in a work place environment
Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalent at C grade or above
AAT or equivalent part qualified
Ability to work with minimum supervision after a short period of time
A keen interest in finance and developing those skills further
Interest in Social Housing and other not for profit organisations
Salary & Benefits:

Salary £16,708 (pay award pending) per annum
27 days leave plus 3 days concessionary
35 hour working week (flexible working hours)
8.5% defined contribution pension scheme
