Finance Assistant- Winchester
Maternity cover, 1 year
£18,000 - £19,000 per annum
We are currently recruiting for a full time Finance Assistant to support our client in Winchester for a permanent contract for one year covering maternity. Ideally the correct candidate will be able to start immediately, the successful candidate must be happy to have a credit check completed against them due to the sector of the business.
The main purpose of the Finance Assistant is to provide support in a wide range of finance tasks and providing efficient account services to clients, agents, policy holders and third parties.
Key responsibilities for the Finance Assistant
-Preparation of cashbooks and associated bank/scheme reconciliation and reporting
-Preparation of direct debit collections and associated reporting
-Processing refunds via different payment methods
-Handling both written and verbal communications
-Cash management responsibilities
-Meticulous and accurate record keeping.
-Methodical approach to all aspects of the role.
-Confidence in using web and Microsoft Excel (Lookups, Pivot Tables, Formulas).
-Ability to work in a small team on own initiative.
-A positive 'can-do' attitude to deal with unexpected ad hoc tasks.
-An individual who is innovative and shows willing to support the department move from a wide range of manual processes to improve automation. - ----Good working knowledge of Sage Financial an advantage in support of this process
