The role

We are recruiting a Software Support Engineer to join our ever expanding Technical team. This is an exciting role and the perfect opportunity for someone looking to progress their career further and take on a support role in the Manufacturing sector.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:



· Support:

o Build lasting relationships with our customers

o Work with customers and your wider team to identify areas of improvement be this technical or procedural

o Resolve support tickets ensuring, where possible the root cause and preventative measures have been identified and put in place

o Be confident in writing debug and fix code as and when needed

o To maintain a high degree of customer service for all support queries and adhere to all service management principles

o Understand and drive preventative measures within a problem management framework

o Communicate accurately and consistently with all interested parties

o Declaring problems when a ticket becomes overdue and escalates

o Relish the challenge of managing a wide variety and type of customer requests

o Replicate customer issues and test changes on internal test systems to diagnose and repair without jeopardising customer data or operations

o Join the on-call rota for our 24*7 clients

· Project:

o Delivery of sub-tasks as allocated by Technical Manager(s) (TM) and/or Project Manager (PM)

o Participate in daily scrums & be ready to provide a concise & accurate status report and estimations to the Technical Manager

· Quality:

o Responsible for ensuring own work is to defined standards and reviewed accordingly

o Flagging to Project Manager where any aspect of project quality is at risk

o Participate in/Undertake code review with peers and seniors. Be ready to receive constructive feedback and make changes where required

· People:

o Technical mentor to junior team members - Help less experienced / junior team members get their job done

· Technology

o Stay up to date regarding current programming technologies

· Commercial

o Assist Technical Managers in the assessment of how long a technical task will take you

o Understanding of the SLA commercial structure and impact of incidents on both the client and Cimlogic

Skills, education and experience

· Degree level education preferred, or equivalent industrial experience

· Experience in Programming domain: SQL Server, C#, ASP .Net, HTML/CSS, JavaScript

· Experience of working in a service delivery team, ITIL structured preferably

· Experience in MES / MOM domain preferred : Production Dispatching, Detailed Scheduling, Product Tracking and Genealogy, Resource allocations and status, Document Control, Performance analysis, Labour management, Maintenance Management, Process Management, Quality Management, Data collection

· Good problem-solving skills (technical); experience of troubleshooting, fault finding and fixing in operational/production environments;

· Real-life experience and history of delivering MES/MOM solutions preferred

The Person
The ideal candidate will be seeking a challenging position. You will have a high level of commitment to your projects and will be able to actively demonstrate problem solving skills.

You should be a fast learner and be dynamic in your approach as you will need to react quickly to ever changing environments. You will actively keep up to date with new and developing programming technologies and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)/Manufacturing Operations Management (MOM)/Operating Technologies (OT) developments and trends.

Finally, you will be a charismatic and confident Engineer, happy interacting with different audiences, including clients and internal stakeholders.
