Job Description Communities and Families Early Years Assistant Craiglockhart Primary School Nursery Salary: £16,775 - £18,860 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional 39 weeks) plus living wage allowance if applicable Hours: 25.5 per week, 39 weeks per year Craiglockhart Primary School Nursery Class comprising next session of both full time children accessing 1140 and part-time children accessing 600 hours. We welcome enthusiastic applications to join our exciting new Nursery Team to continue to develop high quality learning through a child-led play approach and support the extension to our children's day. Hours will be: Monday to Thursday 10.00 - 15.15 Friday 09.30 - 14.00 Early Years Assistants are required to be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council within 6 months of starting employment. They are also required to achieve an SCQF Level 2 Social Services for Children and Young People qualification within 5 years of being registered with the SSSC and this is funded by the early years service. There will be an opportunity for those who wish to progress to SCQF Level 3 to receive funding for this. This post is considered Regulated Work with Vulnerable Children and/or Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by the City of Edinburgh Council. The City of Edinburgh Council applies a Living Wage allowance to ensure that all employees earn at least £9.34 per hour.
