This is a varied role working within a small, but high-performing compliance function which is growing in line with the business. The Financial Crime Analyst will be an integral part of the Compliance team, contributing to ensuring regulatory and financial crime processes (including but not limited to: Anti-bribery and Corruption, Anti-money laundering, Sanctions and Fraud) as well as gaining wide-ranging exposure to large-scale asset and liability deals. This is a varied and dynamic role in an exciting, high-calibre team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the operating of the firm's financial crime processes, systems and controls for asset and liability deals
  2. Checking for and investigating sanction and PEP alerts.
  3. Ensuring that the firm's financial crime prevention arrangements are consistent with applicable legal and regulatory requirements and expectations.
  4. Offering recommendations as required to update financial crime systems and controls in light of changes in legal/regulatory requirements and/or the evolution of industry best practice.
  5. Ensuring financial crime-related procedures, processes and controls owned and operated by the Compliance Function are sufficient to maintain ongoing compliance with regulatory requirements, and are effectively designed and operationally robust.
  6. Provide support and coordination to mitigate financial crime-related exposures across the organisation, engaging closely with relevant senior managers and the business areas they are responsible for.
  7. Support delivery of a comprehensive annual risk-assessment of the business to determine exposures to financial crime and market integrity risks.
  8. Support preparation of the MLRO's annual report to the Audit Committee and for approval by the Board.


Required:

  1. Deep understanding of relevant domestic and international financial crime requirements.
  2. Detailed understanding of corporate structures and how to understand and correctly verify such structures.
  3. Working knowledge of JMLSG.
  4. Extensive experience in working within the UK regulatory environment.
  5. Proven experience delivering quality and consistent output, including at short notice.
  6. Managing on-going/cyclical work items and workflow processes.


Preferred:

  1. Experience with the debt raising process for the issuance of private and public bonds.
  2. Knowledge of US corporate structures.
  3. Previous experience in pensions buy in/buy out sector.
  4. Strong understanding of fraud risk, the tactics fraudsters deploy and how to identify and mitigate them, e.g. pension scams
  5. Managing and producing management information.
  6. Big 4 Consultancy background.

Compensation:

£50,000 - £60,000 for the right candidate with a competitive package on top.
