The opportunity

This position is a key role in our Group Finance team which is heavily involved in the external reporting requirements of a FTSE100 listed company. The role produces key elements of the Group's financial statements, provides accounting support to the wider Group and helps to develop key aspects of financial control.

The finance team has to help the business grow and achieve its goals. We partner across the business with new initiatives, from sales to technology, in order to support growth in all areas. Our role is to take into account every aspect of the company combined, to make sure we're financially sound and heading in the right direction. With the rate at which our business is growing, life in the finance department is never dull. Every day is different and provides a different challenge, we are still a young company and seeking to make significant improvements to our controls and processes, often these will need to be designed from scratch; there's a lot of room to prove yourself and to progress.

Key responsibilities
  • Ownership of key activities in the monthly consolidation process, ensuring all parts of the business have the necessary support to report on time and accurately
  • Preparation of elements of half year and full year Group financial statements for external reporting
  • Completion of subsidiary statutory financial statements
  • Implementation of new IFRSs
  • Key contributor to the Group accounting manual
  • Liaising with Deloitte audit team
  • Performance of impairment reviews
  • Calculation of share based payment expense
  • Memorandums on key Group accounting matters
  • Ownership of the intercompany process
  • Researching accounting treatments and write papers on Group accounting policy


Required skills and experience
  • Qualified accountant or equivalent experience
  • Good understanding of IFRS
  • Comfortable working in a fast changing environment
  • Working knowledge of a first class Group reporting team with a UK listing
  • Excellent communicator and influencer that can quickly build quality relationships
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills
  • Proficient user of MS Excel or Google Sheets
  • Approachable and able to coach and assist colleagues with accounting problems / issues.

  • Proficient user of Microsoft D365
