Pipeline Automation Engineer

This role is with the First Vision Infrastructure Pipeline Engineering & Automation team. The engineer is responsible for delivering reusable automation solution to improve the operational consistency of Fiserv products. The engineer will work independently to reverse engineer applications and determine the requirements implementation architecture for automation. The engineer will have prior experience in application deployment and infrastructure configuration and will work with various groups inside and outside of Fiserv to drive new solution designs. The engineer will have working knowledge and experience in an agile team environment. The engineer must have a background of multiple years working with large scale global enterprise infrastructure

  • Deliver reusable automation solutions to improve operational consistency of FDC products
  • Technically participate in the design and delivery the of automation beyond automating the steps of delivery
  • Understand/ Reverse engineer applications, processes and infrastructure, previous experience as developer or sys admin or architecture mandatory C/C++/Java/Python etc
  • Ability to understand scripting and automation - Puppet/Salt required
  • Be able to manage delivery without rigid supervision
  • Understand and advocate best practices in high-level system designs
  • Document implementation architecture for automation
  • Ensure the work backlog is visible, transparent, prioritized, understood by everyone
  • Self-starter and able to work independently under general guidance
  • Manage deliverables from the front
  • Ability to work through problems and take logical decisions under pressure
  • Experience with large global enterprise scale infrastructure
  • Development/systems background with strong experience in end-to-end dev lifecycle
  • Understanding application deployment and infrastructure configuration
  • Java, better yet C/C++/C#/ Python dev experience
  • Experience with System and Software architecture
  • Experience with automation and configuration management
  • Experience with development and build pipelines
  • Experience with cloud/virtualised systems


Rate: £600 - £800

Location: UK Based but remote working
