The key responsibilities of a pharmacy assistant will be:
Managing over the counter sales of medication and providing health-care advice to customers.
To achieve the knowledge required for the above, it is compulsory to undergo a course to achieve the Medicine Counter Assistant qualification. This training will be fully sponsored and provided by the pharmacy
Maintaining stock levels, receiving and inputting orders, pricing, maintenance of the general appearance and cleanliness of the shop areas, and additionally expiry date checking of products.
The potential to have involvement in the running of the pharmacy services e.g. becoming a stop-smoking advisor, allergy screening, diabetes screening, becoming a heath champion and other opportunities will be available.
Dispensing medication for customers and using the dispensary computer system. To work in a dispensary, it is compulsory to complete the Dispensary Assistant Qualification. This training will be fully sponsored.Profile
