Based: Woking or Chepstow

Hours: Full Time

The Position:

RPS is looking for an experienced Commercial Contracts Manager with oil and gas experience to join our Energy business. This is a key role where you will be supporting the growth by providing legal support to our sales and marketing teams in the EAME regions. You can be based at either our Woking or Chepstow offices and we are pleased to be able to offer flexibility of home working to provide you with a good work/life balance.

Reporting into the MD of RPS Energy (EAME), you will line manage 2 direct reports and work closely with Technical Directors and senior managers of the business units. You'll have the responsibility of providing support in the negotiation and creation of end user and partner agreements of all types, oversee the management of commercial contractual risks and liabilities and provide advice on all commercial matters. This is a practical hands-on role that will require you to develop effective client relationships and give sound guidance/advice on all commercial legal activity for the international business. With a high degree of autonomy, you'll be empowered to make decisions on contractual positions such as data privacy-related terms, the breadth, depth and scope of contractual warranties and indemnities and liabilities in accordance with corporate guidance and policies.

Skills and Experience:

You'll be used to advising for medium to large sized commercial organisations. We'll need you to have sound practical knowledge of commercial contractual principles and related law, strong experience of the management and control of international contractual and commercial risk. Experience within a consulting organisation in the oil and gas is essential and some renewables industry knowledge would be highly advantageous. You'll have great client relationships skills, be pragmatic and solutions focused, have handled complex negotiations, be significantly skilled in drafting contractual and legal documents and used to delivering to tight deadlines.
