Title: Systems Engineer / Project / Machine Planner

Salary: £10.50ph - £12.50ph (£20,475 - £24,375) negotiable depending on experience

Location: Sheffield

Duration: Approximately 6 month

Hours: 8.30am - 5pm
This is a great opportunity to join a prestigious Sheffield based steel manufacturing company on a potential 6 month basis although this could become longer depending on the individual.

This is a new role due to the investment of a new machine monitoring system that has been purchased and is within the initial stages of implementation. The idea of this is to improve machinery efficiency through analysing data and producing reports. As the system is in the initial stages of implementation the company expect the first couple of months to be predominately shop floor based to gain a greater understanding of the machines, how they work, how the system works, picking up on any faults and ensuring everything is set up correctly. Following on from this the role will transfer into a more office based position where there will be more data analysis, report producing and feeding back into the Senior Management Team.

Reporting into the Operations Manager and based on their Sheffield site, your day to day duties will include;

Communicating with the shop floor regarding any machine issues

Ensuring system is set up correctly

Learning production methods to ensure you are maximising the usage of this

Support of system integration through analysis

Liaising with the system technical helpline team regarding any issues

Producing reports

Liaising with Senior Management Team

Ideally you will have;

Experience and or the ability to provide analytical assessment of information

Some knowledge of electrics / electronics to understand basic wiring (no qualification needed)

Confident with MS-Office software products

Some understanding of engineering

Confident communication skills to deal with other parties at all levels

Independent, goal-oriented and structured way of working

Distinctive team spirit and customer orientation

High commitment and motivation

The hours of work for this position are Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm although there is some flexibility for the right candidate.
