Mechanical Engineer - Energy from Waste Plant

We are currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer to join the maintenance department of an Energy from Waste (EfW) power station in South London near the Croydon area. As the Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for all mechanical engineering and maintenance activities to ensure minimal downtime and optimal long-term availability of the plant is achieved.
Reporting into the Engineering & Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for:
Coordinating, scheduling and planning maintenance activities to ensure optimal long-term availability of the plant
The day to day management of a team of mechanical technicians who are responsible for carrying out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on all mechanical equipment including pumps, gearboxes, valves, fans etc
Supervising and directing contractors
Management of the mechanical maintenance workshop
Ensuring the CMMS is updated and utilised to its full potential
Carrying out risk assessments to ensure all maintenance activities are carried out with the highest regard for health and safety
Knowledge, Skills and Experience...
To be considered for this position you must have:
A recognised qualification in mechanical engineering or similar at HNC level or higher
Knowledge and experience working with a range of mechanical plant including boilers, turbines, pumps, valves, conveyors, pipework etc
At least 4 years of experience in a supervisory level role in a heavy process environment - ideally power generation but will also consider pharmaceutical, chemical, steel, paper mill etc. Royal Navy Marine Engineers at PO level and above will also be considered
Experience in the planning and execution of outages would be an advantage
Experience working with computerised maintenance management systems
An IOSH or NEBOSH qualification would be beneficial
