Specialised in-house legal counsel

A rare opportunity to join a leading in-house team focusing on advanced Energy solutions for the changing and diversified energy generation markets. Focusing primarily on wind and solar, both on-shore and off-shore. This business has a strong reputation for operating a leading in-house, and this individual will be leading day-to-day matters from a legal perspective engaging with various commercial internal stakeholders and external contacts.

Must have an minimum of 5+ years PQE experience in commercial contracts/constructions/projects/project finance, energy experience is a bonus. We are looking for a sophisticated, smart thinking, solution focused legal transaction specialist. You will be joining a bespoke team focusing purely on the day to day legal aspects in a growing, fast paced market.

Day to day the successful candidate will be an experienced Solicitor who will deliver the following:
  • Provide timely and relevant legal and strategic advice as legal lead to onshore wind or solar projects to support successful project delivery. Anticipate legal/business impacts whilst providing commercially appropriate solutions to complex issues.
  • Draft, negotiate and advise on a range of complex commercial, project development, construction and/or operations contracts and manage a variety of complex legal services which may include IP, insurance, contract management, corporate compliance and others as required.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of key corporate and legal documentation, including precedent legal documents, database and physical signed contracts and Group policies and procedures, manage the engagement of external legal and related services within budget and required timescales, interface between law firms and commercial teams.
  • Support the risk management and oversight needs of the Group, ensuring compliance with legal obligations and comprehensive reporting and liaise with in‐house counsel in other Group offices and entities as necessary.
