St Elizabeth's School is situated in 68 acres of rural bliss on the Herts/Essex Border. For over 100 years we have been committed to providing high quality education, care and health services for young people with epilepsy, autism and complex needs. We offer a specialist non maintained residential/day provision for children and young people aged 5 - 19 years. Our well-resourced classrooms, excellent residential facilities and opportunities for varied outdoor activities within our own extensive natural grounds offer a fabulous environment for teaching and learning.
We would love to hear from you if you have post 14 - 16 experience teamed with the ability to think creatively and engage positively with pupils with a broad range of highly complex needs. You will lead class groups in all aspects of the curriculum ensuring the optimum contribution of support staff and engagement of children and young people in consistently inspirational lessons. Innovative, creative and enthusiastic, you will be willing and able to make a broader contribution to school life and able to deliver results in all you do.
You will need to have qualified teaching status in the UK and the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with multi-disciplinary colleagues towards delivering excellence. Previous SEN experience including having worked with pupils/students with PMLD is desirable, but not essential. What matters to us is that you have a passion for helping children and young people with complex needs reach their full potential. We will provide full induction, training and support to those who come from a mainstream teaching background.

If you are looking to relocate we may consider offering subsidised on-site staff accommodation (subject to availability) which is available for up to 2 years. We welcome applications from all parts of the country and have the facilities to hold initial interviews via Skype. We are located in beautiful countryside between Harlow & Bishops Stortford both of which have excellent transport links to London and Stansted Airport.
