We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced registered pharmacy technician to join our team in Caithness to help deliver the pharmacotherapy service in NHS Highland. The post holder will work as a pharmacy technician based at Riverview Medical Practice, Wick. You will work as a member of NHS Highland’s Pharmacotherapy team, comprising pharmacists and pharmacy technicians, and be involved in the provision of the pharmacotherapy service as it develops in Caithness. You will contribute to safe, efficient and effective medicines management systems and processes; these include medicines reconciliation, repeat prescriptions and serial prescribing, medication reviews. You will also contribute to the delivery of prescribing efficiencies through prescribing data analysis and audit and implement medicines management projects. You may have a community or hospital pharmacy background. Good communication, interpersonal and time management skills are essential. You will have knowledge of legislation, ethics, policy and guidelines related to prescribing and medicines use and experience of developing and implementing protocols and procedures for safe, effective and cost effective use of medicines. You will be committed to continuing professional development and maintaining a broad level of pharmacy practice. You should have a full driving licence and use of a use of car for business purposes. This is a full-time post of 37.5 hours per week, to be worked in accordance with service requirements. This post is fixed term for a period of up to 12 months.
