Job Description

Arcola Energy is a clean energy engineering company specialising in fuel cells and hydrogen. Our

main focus is to develop and deploy zero-emission vehicles but we also work in clean energy

solutions for buildings and remote areas. We have a unique education programme to inspire the

next generation about the importance of clean energy and renewables.

Job Purpose

• External - To position Arcola Energy as the go-to business for hydrogen and fuel cell vehicles

and engineering in this exciting and rapidly growing market.

To build trust with clients, partners and the public by communicating about our capabilities

in this sector, our passion to make a difference and our integrity in the way that we work.

• Internal - To support the CEO and leadership team in maintaining a healthy company culture

that aligns with our brand and values and ensures that Arcola Energy is a great place to

work.

Accountabilities and tasks

Company Communications Management

• Strategic responsibility for internal and external communications, leading on company

communication strategy and managing delivery, working with CEO and Strategy Director

• Plan, deliver and monitor communication campaigns aligned with company objectives and

project delivery milestones

• Plan, deliver and monitor effective use of appropriate communications channels such as

events, webinars, social media, website and direct engagement

• Develop an organisational PR strategy to include pitching staff for interviews, opinion pieces

and features with relevant publications and journals.

• Responsibility for media relations, developing and maintaining circulation lists and

developing relationships with priority national and specialist journalists

• Work with Executive team on strategic company development, including bid and pitch

writing and presentation

• Use effective staff communications, team building activities and good HR practices to

support the CEO and leadership team in maintaining a healthy company culture

Strategic partnership development

• Working with the Strategy Director, develop and maintain an engagement plan for

stakeholders, partners and customers based on company priorities

• Develop and maintain contact databases of potential partners and customers, and

coordinate timely communication across the relevant teams

• Development of partnerships and building relationships across a range of organisations

including national government departments and agencies, local authorities, large

corporations such as transport providers and vehicle manufacturers, technology firms and

other innovation ecosystem actors

• Plan use of relevant sector and regional events, building and contributing to networks for

the benefit of the organisation, coordinating and deputising for Strategy Director and CEO as

required

Content production and management

• Develop and convey Arcola Energy's 'tone of voice', including the creation of guidelines and

style guides

• Design a sustainable and manageable approach to use of the website and social media

channels, including tone of voice, and an exploration of new channels and ideas for content

• Write and maintain content for website, social media content, press releases

• Develop Arcola Energy's digital offering, considering possibilities to develop webinars,

podcasts and other online resources, particularly during this current shift to digital

• Design a campaign plan template including timeline, white papers, PR, website, social media,

webinars or events, partnerships, and other appropriate activity

• Work with relevant members to Arcola Energy staff to create content to support campaigns

• Monitor and report on the reach and impact of media social media and campaign activity

Person Specification

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills

• Experience of informing and influencing senior colleagues and providing input to

organisational strategy and tactics

• Ability to take initiative and ownership of strategy, planning and delivery relevant to the

role

• Ability to listen well, contribute to creative business discussions, and build trust and

relationships with a range of colleagues

• Excellent project and programme management skills

• Excellent Microsoft Office and Google G Suite skills

• Keen ability to prioritise and multitask in a fast-paced environment

Terms and Conditions

• Salary: £35-40,000 dependent on experience

• Hours: 40 hrs/week

• Location: The role is nominally based in the Arcola Energy Office in London, but the current

expectation is that all staff will work mainly from home

• Travel : possibility of frequent travel, for example to current and future partner locations,

events, and project meetings

• Holidays: 28 days annual leave, including public holidays

• Probation period: 3 months

• Access: Arcola Energy is wheelchair accessible throughout
